Incredible shots of the winners of the black and white photography contest BPOTY 2018

The jury of the contest of the best monochrome photography Black + White Photographer of the Year (BPOTY), organized by the magazine of the same name in partnership with Fujifilm, awarded the winners of 2018.

Rachel Talibart received the highest award for her astounding shot of a crashing wave taken off the south coast of England. The sea splashes, frozen in time, look incredibly dramatic, and the black-and-white mode gives the frame even more mystery. "I believe that black-and-white shooting can greatly enhance the emotions that I'm trying to evoke, and, being a step away from reality, it offers a new perspective." - says the winner.

Participants were asked to submit images in three categories - "The World of People", "The World Around Us" and "Creative World". The Talibart shot was chosen for a combination of technical skills and craftsmanship that balance the balance in landscape photography. Rachel's victory proves that this genre of shooting can be as powerful as portrait photography or photojournalism.
