Can Finland, the happiest country in the world, save the world from stress

Visit Finland invites people from all over the world to take part in the new Finn rental campaign and find out how Finns manage to live in true harmony with nature.

This summer, Finnish citizens will work as "guides for happiness" and let tourists into their homes to show them life in harmony with nature and the art of relaxing in Finnish.

The application period for guests will end on April 14, 2019.

Research proves that nature helps us to be calmer and fight stress. Even a short walk in nature reduces blood pressure and heart rate, while increasing endorphins. In 2018, the UN named Finland the happiest country in the world, due to the special attitude of Finns to nature.

Heli Jimenez, Global Marketing Manager for Business Finland, notes: “Many tourists come to Finland in search of unspoiled nature and silence. The Finn rental campaign supports the global tourism trend of living“ like local people, ”which implies sharing experiences directly with ordinary people.

Nature is an integral part of life in Finland. We walk in any weather, allow children to sleep in the fresh air, and generally spend most of our life outdoors. Our "guides for happiness" know and love nature, and also appreciate the measured rhythm of life. "

As part of the Finn Rentals campaign, eight regular Finnish citizens will be employed who have been selected from hundreds of candidates and become “guides for luck.” They will spend several days with tourists and show their ways to deal with stress in nature.

Linda Ryahya, guide to happiness: “On our island, time flows differently. It seems that it is going slightly slower and there is no need to rush. "There are many ways to connect with nature: a garden, boat trips, fishing, a sauna or going to the forest for mushrooms and berries."

Tours will begin in the summer of 2019 and will be free.

The Finn Rentals promotion is supported by Hintsa Performance, a company that provides productivity training. The company believes that sustainable productivity growth is achieved through a balanced lifestyle. Hintsa Performance works with various organizations around the world; their customers are successful people, from Fortune 500 leaders to Formula 1 champions.

The Finn Hire Campaign website has a test based on Hintsa’s methods. It will help you understand how balanced your life is and find the best ways to deal with stress and maintain mental health.

Annastiina Hints, Hintsa Performance General Manager explains: "Our modern life is full of irritants, and it can be difficult to relax. Time in nature will help you reboot and recover. The right environment is the first step to reducing stress and improving your performance in the long run."
