Pictures of Tokyo at night from which electrifying energy comes

Tokyo photographer Hosokawa Riohei creatively approaches the visualization of the active life of the Japanese capital in the dark. His vibrant midnight shots tell of the hectic urban jungle and the people who inhabit them.

Rainy nights are lit with electric neon signs, and busy traffic intersections are lit by the lights of cars and headlights. Each shot symbolizes gushing energy and the constant movement of Tokyo. Riohei masterfully plays with perspective, light and reflections. He often uses rain-flooded streets and puddles as mirrors that reflect the look of a metropolis.
