Opening Sun Aqua Vilu Reef in the Maldives

The Sun Aqua brand is particularly proud to announce the opening of its second, previously reconstructed Sun Aqua Vilu Reef Hotel, located on the island of Medufushi, in the heart of South Niland Atoll, which is a great addition to the Sun Aqua Pasikudah Hotel, which opened in early 2015 at northeast coast of Sri Lanka.

Hotel Vilu Reef was originally opened in 1998 and proudly represented the flagship hotel of the Maldivian company Sun Aqua, which planned to continue and expand its international development in the coming years. At Sun Aqua resorts, guests are offered complete privacy in an atmosphere of incredible comfort and exquisite luxury, an exceptional, varied cuisine, and high quality service. During the reconstruction, Sun Aqua continued to receive guests, which is why the hotel team is especially pleased to host our regular guests along with new visitors in the restored version of the resort, who will be able to compare and appreciate all the changes and innovations.

On October 28, 2015, the official opening ceremony of the hotel was held, organized as a celebration with dancing and live music throughout the evening.

Sun Aqua Vilu Reef can be reached by seaplane from Male International Airport. The flight will take about 40 minutes. A complete reconstruction of the hotel was carried out in order to meet the resort's highest modern standards. The hotel has created 5 different room categories, including 15 new Sun Aqua Pool villas with pools. A variety of bright colors and shades in the decoration and interior of the hotel, borrowed from exotic nature, inspire the organizers to further improve and develop the resort.

One of the most enjoyable components of the trip is the new exotic taste sensations. Guests at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef can meet and fully appreciate the benefits of Maldivian cuisine. Natural products grown by hotel workers will be a real gift for any gourmet. And no traveler will refuse to indulge himself with a romantic dinner under the starry sky, having tasted freshly caught and immediately cooked seafood.

One of the biggest events in the life of the hotel was the creation of a full three-dimensional SPA and various package offers. Now Sun Aqua SPA consists of six private treatment pavilions, each with an outdoor bath, shower, hydrotherapy area and massage tables for two.

A children's club also appeared on the island. Children at Sun Aqua Vilu Reef have VIP status and have their own little island paradise, including a private pool, games room and many children's activities. It is open to children from 3 to 12 years old. Babysitting services are available upon request.
