10 humorous photos from French streets of the 1950s from the brilliant Rene Malta

In the 50s of the last century, street photography was only beginning to be perceived as an independent art genre. The French photographer Rene Malta was one of the pioneers of this art form and made very sincere, and sometimes very funny pictures.

In 1951, at the age of 21, Malta moved to Paris. 3 years later, he acquired his first camera, hoping to build a serious career in photography. However, the photographs he took were far less serious than his intentions. Rene became famous due to the fact that he shot quite unexpected, ironic and funny scenes from the everyday life of Parisians and tourists.

Despite the fact that Rene Malta, unfortunately, died in 2000, his works continue to live, they are published and praised.
